Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial

The Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial commemorates the Battle of Lake Erie that took place near Ohio’s South Bass Island, in which Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry led a fleet to victory in one of the most significant battles to occur in the War of 1812.  You can view the area and see the condition of the lighthouse post battle.

Lake Erie Islands Nature & Wildlife Center

The Lake Erie Islands Nature & Wildlife Center is the most important part of the preservation of South Bass Island.  The center hosts the brick and mortar portion of  Lake Erie Islands Conservancy, where activities are held throughout the summer season. Enjoy nature walks, camps, and their annual Island Green Week In August.

Miller Ferry Lime Kiln Dock

Hop on just an 18-minute trip from the tip of Catawba Island to Put-In-Bay. Golf Cart and Bike rentals, taxis, and bus services are available near the ferry dock, which is located just 2 miles from the village of Put-InBay.  The ferry runs daily in the summer,  starting as early as 7:00 am. Vehicles can also be put on the ferry.

Oak Point State Park

Oak Point State Park is the companion park to the South Bass Island State Park .  You can enjoy fishing for the park’s sidewalks, or have a nice picnic in  a more quiet remote area. You can actually see Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial form the park.

Put In Bay Winery

Put-In-Bay Winery, located in Put-in-Bay, Ohio near Sandusky and Port Clinton was proud to open its doors for business on South Bass Island in May 2009. Visitors from nearby Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and around the world come to visit our winery exhibit.
